WB to bring Stephen King’s It to the big screen!!!
Tim Curry as Pennywise
Well I read over at Firstshowing.net that WB is bringing Stephen King’s It to the big screen! Alex Billington reports that “Dave Kajganich, of The Invasion and Creek as well as the upcoming Pet Sematary remake, will write the script.” (I gotta look up the Pet Sematary remake!!) SK’s It was a favorite of mine when I was a kid. It’s the story of a group of friends who defeated an evil being called It when they were kids. As adults the friends have to reunite to battle the horror again.
The 1990 tv movie has not aged very well. I watched it not too long ago and it was pretty dated. The best thing is the clown, Pennywise, played by the awesome Tim Curry. Hopefully the new film will do the character justice. Also of note is that WB plans to set this film in the present. The the book took place in 1958 and 1985.
